Carbon Monoxide, the silent Killer.
Unfortunatley Carbon Monoxide has found it's way into the news again by tragically taking the life of a young man, that takes the death toll for this killer to above 40 this year alone.
It was reported by that man's brother that it took only about 30 minuets for him to be overcome. This would prove to be a very serious case and, with little time for noticing symptoms, would leave no chance to avoid such a fate.
It would appear the boiler in question had had a service visit recently but apparent flue issues had not been picked up on.
A Carbon Monoxide detector would be the first line of defence but without a Gas Safety Inspection you may be waiting for the inevitable instead of avoiding it in the first place.
For those of you wondering about the HIP (Home Information Pack) now applicable to 3 bedroom and above property sales, it will not cover Gas Safety Inspection requirements but will only cover energy efficiency of the property along with other legal property sales requirements.
A Gas Safety Inspection is firstly for your own safety and peace of mind but if you are planning to sell, having an inspection will save time later and give you a selling advantage.
